These are some of the very historic sites you will find in the 5th Brigade.
Beauvoir: The Last Home of President Jefferson F. Davis

The Mississippi Division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans are the sole owners of Beauvoir, The Crown Jewel of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The House, Cottages, Kitchen, Gardens, & Presidential Library have been completely refurbished from the total destruction of Hurricane Katrina. If you have never visited Beauvoir, you should make plans to do so immediatley!

The Deason House

The Deason House is located in Ellisville, MS. It was the home of Amos Deason, a succesful planter & business man in the mid 1800's. The house garners its history from when the outlaw & deserter Newt Knight was responsible for the murder of Major Amos McLemore in 1863 which happened inside the house. The DAR Tullahoma Chapter owns the house & hosts activities throughout the year, including an annual Halloween Historic Tour. The House is said to also be haunted. 

The John Ford Home

The John Ford Home is located between Columbia, MS. & Angie, AL in Sandy Hook, MS. It was built near 1800 before Mississippi became a state and the house has been kept close to its original appearance. Its importance stretches back to Decemeber 1814 when Andrew Jackson stayed there on his way to the Battle of New Orelans. Also, General Davidson and his Federals took over & garrisoned the house in December of 1864. It is owned by the Marion County Historical Society.
